Spell: Welcome to Hexe Gets New Trailer, Adds Two Voice Actors Ahead of Spain Release on November 27

October 13, 2026

Disney released on October 13 a new trailer for Spell: Welcome to Hexe, its animated film about a teenage girl who discovers she has magical powers. The adventure will arrive exclusively in Spanish cinemas on November 27, 2026.

The protagonist is Billie Doe, a young impulsive woman voiced in the original version by Hailee Steinfeld. The discovery of her abilities pulls her from life on the outskirts of the city to Hexe, a realm inhabited by witches where she must investigate family secrets she did not know.

Billie won’t undertake the journey alone. Her mother, Alice, voiced in English by Rashida Jones, becomes a rather reluctant adventure companion. The clash between their personalities sustains a coming-of-age story that adds a family conflict to the display of creatures and spells.

Two New Voices and a Three-Eyed Magical Cat

The new campaign adds two names to the original voice cast: Henry Winkler will voice Nigel, a particularly jittery potoo bird who seems to know much more than he says, while Dan Stevens will portray Hieronymous, the pompous Grand Councillor of the Celestial Queen’s Throne. The details are listed in Disney’s new official press release.

The Hexe universe also features Beef Roger Crummchuk, a three-eyed magical cat voiced by Walton Goggins, who forms an uneasy alliance with Billie and Alice. Opposing them is the Celestial Queen, voiced in English by Jodie Foster, determined to retain power over that world of witches. Both characters had already been part of the new additions shown during Disney’s D23 presentation.

The film is directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn and Jason Hand, with Josie Trinidad as co-director, and features a screenplay by Jared Bush and Dana Ledoux Miller. It is the 65th feature film from Walt Disney Animation Studios, an original story that will hit theaters before future returns of franchises such as Frozen and Zootopia.

Spain Keeps the November 27 Release

There is an important detail for those consulting international information: Latin American promotional material announces the release for November 26, while Disney Spain’s official listing indicates Friday the 27th. That is the date planned for its arrival in Spanish cinemas.

Disney has also announced in Latin America that the animated short Lilo y Scratch will be shown before the movie. For now, that announcement does not specify whether the same programming will apply to Spanish theaters.
