VisionQuest Arrives on Disney+ October 14: Two Marvel Series to Watch Before the Premiere

October 8, 2026

Marvel Television will premiere VisionQuest on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 on Disney+ Spain, with Paul Bettany returning as the rebuilt Vision. The new series closes the television story that began with WandaVision in 2021 and continued with Agatha, Who Else? in 2024: these are the two shows most worth revisiting before the premiere.

The recommendation makes a very concrete case. The first explains what happened to Vision and why there exists a white version of the android; the second broadens Wanda Maximoff’s children storyline, a plot that again occupies a central place. You don’t need to rewatch the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe to follow that thread, although some films can help recall its origin.

Note: the following discusses events from the two previous series, but no VisionQuest spoilers are revealed.

1. WandaVision: The Origin of White Vision

The first stop is WandaVision (2021). Its nine episodes follow Wanda and Vision living an apparently idyllic family life in Westview, with a staging that shifts through decades and pays homage to classic TV comedies. As the story unfolds, that normality reveals the mourning and magic that sustain the world Wanda has created.

To reach VisionQuest with the necessary context, the latter episodes matter most. There appears the White Vision, a rebuilt version by S.W.O.R.D. that ends up confronting the memories of the original android. When he leaves Westview, the series leaves unresolved a crucial question: does having someone’s memories make you that same person?

The new production rises from that identity void, not merely from the recovery of a superhero. The returning Vision is able to remember his past, but must find his own purpose after having been treated as a weapon. That is also why he reclaims the artificial intelligences that are part of his story, including J.A.R.V.I.S. and Ultron.

2. Agatha, Who Else?: The Clue About Billy and Tommy

The second piece is Agatha, Who Else? (2024). Although it begins as a witchcraft adventure led by Agatha Harkness, its connection to VisionQuest lies mainly in Wanda’s family fate. The series introduces a mysterious young man played by Joe Locke and ends by giving special significance to Billy Maximoff, one of Wanda and Vision’s children.

It’s here that audiences understand why Tommy, Billy’s brother, is not just a comic-book fan nod. The first series had introduced the two children within Westview’s family life, but Agatha, Who Else? picks up on the consequences and ties that family to new identities and possibilities.

In Disney Spain’s official presentation, the company describes Thomas Shepherd as a mysterious young man who could be Vision’s reincarnated son. That phrasing is deliberately cautious: the identity and scope of the relationship are part of the questions for the new fiction, not details to be resolved before watching it.

That’s why, more than a sequence of familiar cameos, the three series form a story about a family trying to rebuild itself after multiple losses. One fiction explains the separation; another follows the clues about the children; the third places the father back in front of that past.

Do You Need to Rewatch Any Marvel Movie?

Not as a necessary prerequisite to understand the TV thread. If years have passed since you last saw Vision on the big screen, Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) works as a complement: it recalls the character’s origin and his relationship with the artificial intelligence voiced by James Spader.

Indeed, Ultron’s return is one of the big draws of the series and was already foreshadowed in the new trailer for VisionQuest. But the plot isn’t limited to bringing back the villain: his presence is now integrated into Vision’s mind, turning that old threat into a personal issue.

The essential roadmap is, therefore, two series in this order: WandaVision and then Agatha, Who Else?. For those who already know both, it will suffice to recall Westview’s ending and the Billy and Tommy storyline. Adding films can enrich the context, but shouldn’t become a barrier to starting the premiere.

How Many Episodes Does VisionQuest Have and When Do They Premiere

VisionQuest will consist of eight episodes. According to the schedule posted by Disney+, the October 14 will bring the first two; on October 21 the third and fourth episodes will premiere, and on October 28 the fifth and sixth. The final two episodes are scheduled for November 4 and November 11, respectively.

Disney Spain confirms the series will be available from October 14, though that announcement did not specify a release time for Spain. It is a rollout spanning several weeks, not a full season dropping all at once.

The real preparation for VisionQuest does not consist in memorizing every appearance of Vision in Marvel, but in addressing two pending questions: who is the Vision that survived Westview and what happened to the family that shared it with Wanda. They are the two questions that connect the 2021, 2024, and 2026 premieres.
